Ryan HamityUSCF#191416, ACA#3459Team Rio Grand Cycling625 So. 46th St. Boulder, CO 80305rhamity@hotmail.com(303) 875-0695Born July 31st 1982 Strengths: Stage Races, Tactics and Support, Team Riding, Climbing, High Altitude Races, Long Breakaways, Tough One Day Races.2007 Experience: In 2007 I continued racing for Team Einstein’s, one of the nation’s top amateur teams, which has produced pros like Jonathan Garcia (BMC), Jason Donald (Team Slipstream/Chipotle) and Clayton Barrows (Rite Aid Pro Cycling). Our race schedule consisted of numerous top NRC stage races including: San Dimas, Redlands, Gila, Joe Martin, Nature Valley, and Cascade. My primary goals were to improve in the GC standings and on the hard climbing stages. My team role was to work as the lead support rider and to cover early moves. I was always capable of riding at and on the front, and I consistently made the selections while still supporting our team leader, Corey Collier. As the season progressed, I was also put into the position of acting road manager, which made recovering and preparing for daily stage races more difficult. By the end of the season I was ranked second Category 1 stage racer in the country (behind only my teammate Corey Collier and just ahead of my other teammate Jarred Berger). I believe our individual results and team results show our talent, determination, and selfless team riding. I learned and experienced a lot this season, my results and strength have improved, and I’m fortunate to be able to race and train with many top pros in Boulder. I’m looking forward to the future and I believe that my experience shows that I’m more than capable of riding at the professional level for years to come. Past Athletic Experience: I love sports. I ran my first race when I was two. I started playing soccer when I was six. I ran track and cross country and wrestled for Fairview High School in Boulder. I started some cyclocross and road racing when I was 16 and I started serious bike racing my sophomore year of college. I quickly upgraded to a Cat. 3 and completed the season with a stage victory and GC victory at the Estes Park Stage Race. The next season I began racing for RMCEF where I got my first taste of national racing events after competing in the Tour of the Gila and the Estes Park Stage Race (NRC).
