Scott Nydam

After a long solo breakaway by his teammate Jackson Stewart on stage 1 of the Tour of California Scott Nydam decided to have a go at it for stage 2.  Scott was off the front of a very strong international field today for just over 160k (over 4 hours) alone in the rain and cold.  Scott was able to take both KOM hot spots while at the same time protecting his teammate Jackson Stewarts lead in the competition.

Scott use to live in Boulder and I had the opportunity to race with him on the same team a few times.  He sometimes has a unique way of going about living but is always entertaining and is one of the best guys I know.  He has been under a lot of stress lately with his dad being recently diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia but im sure Scotts time off the front today was plenty of good juju for his dad to keep fighting strong.  Keep up the good work Nydam and the rest of BMC!  Tomorrow should be a great day for them as they all like hills…
